to Neuro-Imaging Laboratories
Since 1931, Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology 's successive directors have supported the development of basic sciences associated with radiology. The Radiological Sciences Division was initiated by the Institute's first director, Dr. Sherwood Moore, who believed that the most promising field of endeavor in radiology was the application of the new and rapidly developing field of nuclear physics to medical problems. Seven labs comprise the current Division of Radiological Sciences:

- Neuroimaging
- Molecular Pharmacology
The Division is codirected by Marcus Raichle, MD, and Michael Welch, PhD.
