I am interested in the neural and the cognitive mechanisms that allow us to explore the environment efficiently. Recently I’ve been working on the neural signals associated with endogenous shift of spatial attention using fMRI. In particular, I investigated what neural mechanisms mediate the effects of prior spatial cues on visual discrimination performance and the predictive value of brain signals that precede target presentation and subject’s decision.
I am also working on brain mechanisms associated with recovery from neglect – a neurological syndrome which usually follows lesions to the right hemisphere and characterized by a diminished ability to detect stimuli in the left side of space
